We’re excited to announce that Big Stone Records is now the official home of the Appalachian Music Chart (AMC)—a monthly celebration of outstanding independent singer-songwriters and original music.
While we’re proudly based in the heart of Appalachia, our mission reaches far beyond our mountains. The Appalachian Music Chart exists to discover, recognize, and promote independent artists who write and release original music, whether they’re from East Tennessee, Texas, Ireland, Australia, or anywhere in between.
This isn’t about record deals, streaming numbers, or social media followers.
It’s about great songs.
Each month, we listen to submissions and carefully evaluate them based on:

Vocal Performance
Production Quality
Musicality
Emotional Impact

Every artist featured on the chart shares one thing in common: a passion for creating original music and telling authentic stories through song.
Why We’re Doing This
We believe some of the world’s best music isn’t always coming from major labels or mainstream radio. It’s being written in home studios, garages, barns, spare bedrooms, and small-town stages by artists with something genuine to say.
Our goal is simple: shine a light on those artists.
Whether you’re an established independent musician or releasing your very first song, the Appalachian Music Chart exists to help listeners discover incredible original music and to give deserving artists a platform where the music always comes first.
